Habitat: the peregrine falcon sets up home among rocky cliffs or, occasionally, tall buildings. In quiet valleys, peregrine falcons may nest in low cliffs easily accessible.
In the Pyrenees: nobody knows the exact number of peregrine falcons in the Pyrenees. However, experts agree that not all suitable areas have been populated and there is plenty of room for expansion. The French population is estimated at 700 couples living in the Pyrenees, Vosges, Jura, Alps and Massif Central.
