| Limoux is a small town on the threshold of the Aude valley. It is the capital of the well-reputed white sparkling wine known as "blanquette". Vineyards are currently its main wealth, though Limoux was during Roman times an important stopover on the way from Languedoc to the Pyrenees. In the Middle ages, it became a prosperous township well protected by its ramparts. |
